A wine bottle occupies a very special place on the Mosaic table. Wine has a long-standing significance in the religions and traditions of Western societies; it has been an integral part of our meals, our conversations and our lives for centuries.
Great care and diligence have gone into selecting wines for inclusion on this list. Those chosen represent the many varied styles and flavors being produced around the world. Most importantly, the wines selected must have a “personality”. Each wine should tell a story (for those willing to listen) of the passion of the vigneron and the land it came from. While some bottlings are showcase examples of the varietal itself, some may seek to express the characteristics of its vineyard or region (in France and in wine-speak, this is known as terroir {tare WAH}). Every winemaker interprets the gifts from the vineyards in their own way.
