Mosaic

Artist on Display

Mosaic is committed to the visual arts as well as the culinary arts. The walls of Mosaic feature the works of local artists throughout the year, with new hangings every 3-4 months.

The glass art doors at our entrance and the glasswork in our hallway/East dining room are creations of Greg Schadt, of Gravity Glass in Peoria, AZ ( www.gravityglass.com ). The mosaic in our entryway was designed and created by Kathy Parks and Gay Cutter. These artists were inspired by the design elements of Mosaic’s interior for their art.

FEATURED ARTISTS AT MOSAIC

Mark Brodie:
Since 1992, Brodie has worked in automotive pinstriping, graphics and lettering. In 2003 NASCAR sought the artist out and invited him to transform all their automotive designs from Winston to Nextel. “Mark has an unmatched ability to deliver the right amount of punch, excitement and detail to every design,” says NASCAR president Mike Helton.

Using the canvas as he would a vehicle, Brodie juxtaposes vibrant colors with metal, an approach that catches the eye and demands attention. “The paintings represent who I am and how I feel,” says Brodie

John Enright:
“Listening to the Earth” is the best way to describe this new series of organic paintings by John. Using tactile materials found along his travels, John utilizes these elements in a Zen dynamic. Each work is a blend of sculptural methods and painterly application. No two sculptural paintings are the same, yet each holds similarity in color and concept. These works are influenced by numerous ancient civilizations including Aztec, American Indian tribal art, Petra graphs and cave paintings. The works are evocative and spellbinding, at times dark and melancholic.

Freddie Lieberman:
Freddie spent many years painting wall murals, life-size sports figures, specialty finishes on walls and furniture and creating portrait chairs and benches as well as “Pet-traits”. These can be found in homes, restaurants and businesses all over the country. Recently, Freddie put these commissions on hold to follow a deep desire to paint strictly from emotion using colors and techniques that truly excite her.
She believes that an accumulation of lifetime experiences all contribute to the person we are today. She paints using many layers of translucent glazes-each adding to the richness of the finished work. These layers continuously alter the painting but each contributes to the final result – even the very first brushstroke.
